Biography

With music having such a huge influence on Darrell it was inevitable that he would branch out into music production and running/owning his own events. He currently has three well respected and very successful events, Couture, Naive & DirtBox.

Growing up on a musical diet of soul, rare groove and reggae provided by his parent’s record collection, Darrell Privett is hard to pin down musically. Inspired by his families love of music he took up singing and playing the drums at the tender age of 5. By the age of 13 he sold his drum kit to by his first set of turntables and started performing at local house parties and under 18's events.

Baptised into clubland at the tender age of 15, Darrell Privett, known as DJ Frenzie back then, has been at the cutting edge of our music scene for the past 15 years and has shared the stage with some well known and well respected DJ's. Starting off in the classic house and Garage scene all those years ago, his determination and love for music has continued to keep in the forefront of the ever changing scene we indulge in today.

Darrell has held a number of well respected residencies and numerous weekly bookings, on occasions amounting to a healthy 7 bookings over a 3 day period at some of London and Essex’s top venues and promotions. As well as playing in venues all over England he has travelled abroad year in year out to play at a number of parties in Portugal, Marbella, France, Croatioa and Amsterdam to name but a few.

His production has gone from strength to strength and we can expect to hear some releases from him towards the tail end of this year.

2012 was an extremely busy year for Darrell after joining the cast of ITV’s hit show TOWIE as the main DJ and has quickly become known as the TOWIE DJ. 2013 has already been a very busy and exciting for Darrell, with numerous bookings all over Europe and some new ventures starting, this year looks to be another successful year and another step on the ladder.
