| ELEONORA CUTAIA BIOG Eleonora presents Underground Soul Eleonora Cutaia (Expansion / Irma Records) Having been described as "one of the most exciting new DJs on the international stage", Eleonora today is known for her signature compilations and eclectic DJ sets, as well as for her constant involvement in the music industry. Mainly known for founding the popular Underground Soul brand in 2002, Eleonora has seen many sides of the industry. From DJ, to music journalist, talent scout, manager, A&R (Copyright /Song Williamson/Dennis Ferrer, Roger Sanchez/Omar, Sir Piers/Frank McComb etc.), and all round entrepreneur – she still enjoys the challenge of covering different roles. Press coverage has consistently come on an international basis, and so airplay from networks like Capital, Smooth FM and Ministry of Sound in UK - Fashion FM, IbizaGlobalRadio, Ciut FM and many others all over the world and in 2006 Eleonora became also one of the characters of the popular “The Trouble with Katie Rogers” comic strip. Summer 2007 marks a new beginning for Underground Soul: after the successful first instalment of the Underground Soul compilation series, released on Expansion Records to critical acclaim worldwide; this time Eleonora comes back with a double set equally tailored around the listener and the clubber. Released on Irma Records, the new compilation titled “Underground Soul Sessions” will feature an eclectic selection of underground favourites, and upfront exclusives. 4Hero, Malena Perez, Osunlade and Notenshun are all in the mix, to name but a few. The new compilation album will be launched together with an internationally broadcasted Radio show by the same name, where Eleonora, as usual, will be crossing boundaries between music genres and will commit to bringing the best music around. “It’s not easy to categorise the music I play. I’m about quality not genres – Eleonora noted during an interview with Blues & Soul magazine – “Broken Beat, House, Electronic, Jazz, Latin, Drum n Bass, Trip Hop, Bossa, Dubstep, Soul… they’re all in the mix, but the way I blend them together has continuity“. Support has consistently come from the likes of 4Hero, Sir Piers, Spacek and King Britt - the latter personally chose Eleonora to open for him at London’s Fabric with Vikter Duplaix. As a matter of fact the past year has seen Eleonora DJing at the most diverse venues in UK and Europe: from the popular Turnmills, Penthouse and Jazz Café to corporate parties such as 20th Century Fox, to private VIP functions with guests such as the Prime Minister Tony Blair. The next few months will see the start of a promo tour in support of Underground Soul Sessions, which will take Eleonora to USA and Australia. |
