| Rae always aims to create a massive impression and a party to be remembered. So far she’s doing it with stellar results! DJ, vocalist, producer, live performer, lyricist- Rae plans to shake up a man’s world seem to be successfully put into action. Rae was working and vocalising in her local recording studio in Birmingham when she seriously took to music and mixing. She grabbed the opportunity to practice on the decks and tutor herself into tune, before heading out to Ibiza for the summer of ’98 where she impressed promoters, punters and DJ’s alike, spinning her tunes at Kaos alongside Brandon and Alex! She could also be seen and heard at Kanya bar where she rocked it by the pool with Jonathon Ulyses. Back home Rae kept the buzz alive, playing funky twisted house at the Arches and the Unit in Sheffield, regularly appearing with Fergie, she took on the Emporium in Cardiff, and landed her first residency at the Warehouse in Doncaster. In 2000 she was tearing it up on her home turf with residencies at Subway city, Gods kitchen and Sundissential, during this time she played at the Rapture TV party at North in Manchester and appeared on MTV for an interview at UK midlands. You could catch Rae playing as far a field as Ireland, Norway and Israel, and in 2001 she could not resist returning to the maddest party of the summer…Ibiza’s Bora Bora where she played alongside Sandy Riviera and DJ Gee. 2002 and Rae landed back in the studio, writing her own material. Studio walls could not contain her vocal talents, Rae went on to do live Pa’s solo at Naughty but nice, and with her band Hush at the Roadhouse and the Millennium bar, London. By 2004 Rae had become resident for London’s Club therapy, playing in her ‘phat and dirty’ style at Turnmills, Pacha and the Cross, becoming a firm favourite with the regular therapists and sharing the stage with the likes of Jazzy M and Steve Lee. Staying loyal to her Birmingham roots she regularly played at Hidden, Bambu, and at her own events Tube and Underground playboys. Rae has held her own night ‘Girls on form’ at Bedbar Notting hill which featured Miss Jools. She also has a monthly event ‘sexed up funked out’ at blag club. Rae has made it her mission to excel in style. Her ‘deep, funked out tech edged house’ teamed with her sophisticated style and energetic interaction with her crowds has been, and continues to be a firing success. Rae’s latest projects are set for release in September, one of which is getting support from Pete Tong, Steve Lawler and many others., All vocals are recorded by Rae. With three tracks on the way and a great response so far Rae’s profile is ascending. Her ambitions are sky high and her intentions world wide. The story continues… |
