Pure DJs - Angel
BARCELONA is known as a haven that attracts leading DJs. That’s old news.
However, rarely reported, is that some of those DJs earn their right to stay and
play. Now Barcelona can count DJ/Producer ANGEL amongst its galaxy of
DJs who live, produce and perform there.
Day-to-day, Angel is based in her studio at Blanco y Negro Music, producing high
quality, electronic dance and house music, alongside her own definitive style of
eclectic, chilled-out compositions under her moniker Venus in Motion. Her debut
album is currently available on Blanco Y Negro records.
Her forthcoming dance music productions are already earning top-level support,
including her new solo projects and collaborations with Studiopunks, Gabi
Newman, Jan Solo & Alex Senna. Future summer releases include outings on
Vendetta records, Toolbox House and Interlabel music.
Angel has been spinning her own blend of funky, chunky, melodic house and electro
for over sixteen years. This DJ diva transforms dance floors with her selection of
fresh, funky sounds and charismatic personality.
Angel is a monthly guest at Barcelona’s Pacha Nightclub for the infamous Fashion
TV nights. She is resident DJ for Nylon, host to some of the most glamorous party
nights in the city. She is also resident for the Delicious parties held at Mondo
Barcelona.
You may know Angel as one of the UK’s old skool house DJs, who made her debut
at Nottingham’s legendary Venus on New Years Eve 1991, where she played an
awesome first set and was instantly rewarded with a residency, no easy feat as the
other residents included Darren Emerson and Sasha!
Guest spots at all the top clubs in the country soon followed and Angel became a
regular at the Hacienda, the Ministry of Sound, Back to Basics, Up Yer Ronson,
Turnmills, Miss Moneypenny's, Progress, Shindig, The Cross and Chuff Chuff’s
infamous, secret mansion, parties to name just a few.
In 1994 Angel took up a second residency at Staffordshire’s super club Swoon,
where she spent four fantastic years spinning alongside everybody from David
Morales to Little Louie Vega.
DJ Angel was soon in demand internationally at world’s best venues and events
such as; The Alter Ego in Verona, the Queen Club in Paris, Pacha Ibiza, the W
Club in Rio De Janeiro, where she was the first woman ever to play with one of Rio's
famous Samba Schools. She has played sets all over Europe in Germany, Greece,
Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland and Kosovo then further afield in Brazil, South
Africa, Egypt, USA, Canada, Latvia, Abu Dhabi, Turkey, Beirut, Dubai, Moscow
and China.
Angel has earned the reputation of being a DJ that delivers. When she plays
everyone is guaranteed a fantastic night!
