Who is MKM?
Miss Kelly Marie is not just an international DJ, acclaimed radio host and vibrant performer. She’s also an accomplished musician, producer, corporate ambassador and purveyor of the all things house, electro, Latin, Afro, soul and disco. Her links with house music’s wider family have supplied her with substantial experience in the arts of touring, residencies, guest slots and showmanship, and are indicative of her commitment to music as a whole.
Although MKM has now gone solo, her past is packed full of massively influential names. She enjoyed a three year residency with one of dance music’s most recognised labels – Hed Kandi – as well as her own radio show on their sister label - Stereo Sushi - with Ministry of Sound.
Previous to that she had 5 years behind the decks for Trade at Turmills and over a year with Floridita London. This globe-trotting luminary has since found great success touring the world’s major clubs and brands and her current busy schedule includes regular guest slots for Pacha Europe and the Pacha tours, as well as the unique role of corporate representative at events for the likes of Ford, Nike, BMW, Fashion TV, Virgin, Agent Provocateur and Sony, to name but a few.
Her résumé does not end there, though. She is also the driving force behind the brand High On Heels – an exciting and original concept that mixes talent, energy, visuals and glamour with a passion for performing live music. Her other production qualities include compiling the Surplayaz compilation CD as well as co-writing and collaborating in the studio with producers and artists such as Kosmetiq, Will Simms, Danny Keith and Alexandra Prince.
From Albania to Egypt, Australia to Thailand, Italy to Iceland, Ibiza to China, Miss Kelly Marie has played the globe alongside other headline acts such as Faithless as well as supporting many well-known artists including Tara McDonald, Barbara Tucker, Peyton and Joyce Simms. Wherever she travels, whenever she’s needed, she plays expanding forms of music and the sound of MKM is constantly growing. Clearly, she is a cyclone of musical activity. From open-air events to intimate glitzy clubs to crowd-heavy festivals - like Creamfields (UK) and Sunrise (Brazil) – she’s always lively and uplifting; and predominantly with a hint of London/European flavour. At every tour, at every product launch, at every party, she displays a natural ability to read the crowd and anticipate their needs. Yet, as she says, ‘Throwing down huge tunes is only half the job…’
